Camping Playa Joyel

Camping Playa Joyel has a swimming pool with a separate children’s pool. The campsite has direct access to the gently shelving beach of Playa Joyel. There is a tidal creek for sheltered bathing, ideal for small children! There can be a strong undercurrent and high waves, so flag warnings must be obeyed.

Camping Playa Joyel has its own animal park, which is open to visitors twice a week, but the animals can also be seen from outside the fence. During high season the campsite provides a children’s club. For teenagers aged over 16 years there is an underground disco during high season. There are plenty of sports for the whole family to enjoy on the campsite, including football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis and mini golf. The restaurant on Camping Playa Joyel provides traditional Spanish food and drinks.

Playa Joyel is in a mountainous setting, where there are many beautiful walks to enjoy. This area is also known for its delightful wide sandy beaches, like Playa de Ris at Noja and Playa Trenegadin at Berria. In the lovely old town of Noja, about 2 miles from the campsite, you will find shops and restaurants. A day out in Santander, the capital of Cantabria, is recommended. This historic city with the former Royal Palace of Magdalena, is situated 30 miles from the campsite. The museums in Santander are mostly focused on the rich history of the local fishing and shipbuilding industry.
