The South Bohemia region is located in the untouched nature of the south of the Czech Republic, between Prague and the Austrian border. Here you will find extensive forests, mountain streams, green meadows and (glacier) lakes. Because the Iron Curtain prevented access to the area for a long time, the nature has remained untouched. South Bohemia is a green region with cosy villages, charming cities, old farms, beautiful castles and various national parks where you can hike or cycle. In South Bohemia, you will find the largest national park of the Czech Republic. Also the river Moldau flows right through South Bohemia. Important tourist attractions in this region are Lake Lipno, the cities Ceský Krumlov and Ceské Budejovice, national park Šumava and the many castles, including the fairytale-like castle Hluboka.
