On hot days, the pool is the centrepiece of the agriturismo. A quick cool down, another round of floating and then drying off under an umbrella with that book that has been waiting too long. The small scale makes it feel relaxed: no crowds, but plenty of holiday. And do you want a day with “bigger water”? Within fifteen minutes, you are at Lake Garda, where you can stroll along the promenade, paddle on the beach and watch endless boats with the children.

This is a place where children automatically start playing outside. They make friends with the farm animals, have fun in the playground and want “another game” on the soccer field. Meanwhile, you enjoy the green space and peaceful rhythm. There is table tennis for that fanatical family moment, and those who want something special can go horseback riding through the hills for a fee. Prefer to go at your own pace? Hire a bike and explore roads past fields and vines. And then the finest end of the day: dining in the restaurant or on the terrace, where you can taste the fresh produce from our own garden and orchard. I remember one evening in Italy when the children were quiet over pasta, and I thought: This is exactly why you go on holiday.

The location is ideal for exploring northern Italyë. Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda are perfect getaways for waterfront ice cream and quaint streets. Verona is a wonderful day trip with its famous arena and is the home of Romeo and Juliet. Mantua is also a must: stately squares, history and a nice atmosphere to stroll around together. And if you really want to make a special day of it, even Veniceë is good for a day trip.
