For a 4-star campsite, this was a very poor one indeed. It should only have 2 stars and shouldn’t be included in Dansk Bilferie’s selection at all. It was run-down and old. Rubbish bins stood unemptied and overflowing right outside our mobile home all week. The sanitary facilities were from a different decade. The site itself and the surrounding towns were industrial and bleak. There was nothing to do. The hire bikes on site were in an appalling state; they were completely unrideable. The whole region is generally just filthy, and we decided to cut our stay short and head to northern Italy instead. However, we must give 5 stars to the staff, who were incredibly kind and helpful, and who, of course, can’t be held responsible for the poor standard of the site.

It was our first holiday in Reggio C. The campsite was neat and tidy. The mobile home had everything we needed. Being so close to the sea was brilliant – just a short walk to a clean beach. A parasol and two sun loungers were included. It was great that we were allowed to bring along two of our own sun loungers or chairs as well. That’s not usually the case. The entertainment team were always friendly and tried to get us involved. We didn’t try the pool at all – as we had a toddler, swimming caps had to be worn, which wasn’t really our thing, but that didn’t matter as the time spent by the sea was well worth it. Very clean water – no high waves or anything like that. The campsite restaurant wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was easy enough to cook our own meals in the mobile home. All in all, a brilliant holiday.
