Camping Les Places Dorées

As soon as you arrive, the pool beckons. The heated outdoor pool is spacious and perfect for a quick swim or just floating around. And for the little ones? They will splash safely in the paddling pool with water play equipment. Do you have teenagers with you? Then the slides are the place where they want to hang out all afternoon. Even when the weather is not so good, you don't have to miss anything, because there is also a fine indoor pool where it is always comfortably warm.

And as if that wasn't enough water fun, just 800 metres from the campsite is the vast beach of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Building sandcastles, finding shells or soaking up the sun with a book – it's all possible.

At this campsite, everything is about fun for the whole family. During the day, the children participate in the craft club or sports tournaments with the animation team – always enthusiastic and creative. Your children will probably find it difficult to choose between archery and mini disco. For the little ones, there is a playground with soft ground, and for the teenagers, a skate park and sports fields.

You, as a parent, meanwhile, can enjoy a yoga class in the shade of the trees or just a cappuccino on the terrace of the restaurant. In the evening, everyone gathers again for a fun show or live music. And those who don't feel like cooking: the restaurant serves everything from crispy pizzas to fresh fish from the region. There is also a small supermarket at the campsite for daily shopping.

The Vendée is surprisingly versatile. Hop on a bike together and explore the green bike paths that wind along the coast. Our favourite? The route through the Forêt Domaniale, where it smells of pine, and the kids spot squirrels. For a day out, the Atlantic Toboggan water park is a definite hit, as is the impressive Puy du Fou, where history comes to life in spectacular shows.

Also fun: the charming town of Noirmoutier, accessible by a road visible only at low tide – a little adventure in itself! Or take a boat trip along the rugged coast, with chances of seeing seals along the way.
