Camping L’Hippocampe is idyllically situated near the Provençal village of Volonne and lies directly on a beautiful lake. Camping L’Hippocampe is renowned for its fabulous activities and is a perfect campsite for families with an exciting pool with 5 big slides!

Camping L’Hippocampe is situated directly on a beautiful large lake, which is a protected nature reserve for birds. On the lake, you can go fishing and rent pedalo or canoes to go exploring. Your children will have a great time in the 2 outside pools with 5 big slides!   Make use of the 3400m² lagoon (opening on 29/06/2024) which is located in the neighbouring campsite. You can reach this campsite via a bridge.

There is something to do for the whole family at Camping L’Hippocampe. The entertainment team ensures there is a pleasant mixture of relaxation and activities, including, sports, games, shows, themed evenings, cabaret and karaoke. In the soundproof basement there is a disco for the older children. If you do not feel like cooking in the evening then you can spoil yourself in the campsite restaurant, which also does takeaways.

Camping L’Hippocampe is situated amongst the mountains in the Haute Provence. There are some beautiful areas to explore and some exciting activities to enjoy, such as rafting, mountain climbing, gliding, walking and cycling.

It is definitely worth visiting the charming villages of Volonne and Sisteron, and a drive on the ‘Route de Napoleon’ is highly recommended.

We were very pleased with the camping from the moment of arrival. The staff were very helpful, the accommodation was clean and well presented. The environment was safe and we felt comfortable to let the kids wander around. The pools were adequate for the numbers of people and the water was clean. The activities were varied and ran on-time, by friendly staff. The shop was adequate as was the restaurant. The only issue I have is there were no pizzas available during lunch. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would happily return.
