Take the whole family on an idyllic camping holiday near Calais, with England just a 1.5-hour boat trip away and countless other day trip possibilities. The ideal base is right by the sea, where everything has been thought of to make you and your children comfortable.

Swimming facilities at Homair Le Phare D'Opale campsite

This green-surrounded campsite in Le Portel on the beach of the Opal Coast (with no roads in between) is a picture-perfect destination. From your accommodation, you walk onto the warm sand every day and relax with a snack and a drink. The children play in the sea, build a sandcastle or practice various water sports such as supping and surfing.

Facilities at camping Homair Le Phare D'Opale

Themed evenings with cocktail quizzes and all kinds of live music provide interactivity, whereas during the day sports and games do. There is an arcade with pool tables, and a playground, and close by the children will challenge you to a game of crazy golf. Get something to read at the library, arrange breakfast via the bread service and get your groceries at the small supermarket. The campsite's catering service will gladly serve you. Aqualud, Parc Bagatelle, and Royal Kids Parc de Jeux are great adventure and amusement parks in the area, which is beautiful in itself. Explore the many forests and rolling hills, castles (Chateau d'Hardelot), and picturesque villages with festivals and farmers' markets. A special tip is Parc Saint Joseph Village, where you will experience French village life from 1900 to 1970. The French town of Boulogne-sur-Mer is also a must. Not far from here, the ferry: visit the magnificent Canterbury.
