Camping Domaine de la Besse

At this campsite, you’ll find a unique lagoon pool with crystal-clear water and a fine sandy beach. Children can build sandcastles here, whilst you relax with a book by the water’s edge. Looking for a bit of extra shelter or comfort on a less sunny day? The campsite has a small, covered spa measuring fifty square metres. Here you’ll find an indoor swimming pool heated to 28 degrees, a sauna and a hot tub. There is a charge for using these facilities. In addition, a river flows past the site, where you’ll find a lovely spot for a swim amongst the rocks. A little further on, five kilometres away, lies the large Lac de Montbel for even more water fun.

The campsite is clearly laid out and simply designed, without any unnecessary frills. This actually creates a wonderfully cosy atmosphere where families quickly feel at home. The children can entertain themselves for hours on the site. They can cuddle the animals, let off steam in the playground or cast their lines in the fishing pond. Sporty families can play a game of tennis or hire bikes from the park to explore the local area. During the high season, the kids’ club organises fun, small-scale activities for children aged four to twelve. After an active day, simply head to the park’s restaurant for a tasty meal with the whole family.

There’s plenty to do with your family in these green surroundings. From the campsite, it’s just a short walk to the medieval village of Camon, which is famous for its hundreds of rose bushes. A little further on lies the town of Mirepoix. This town has a beautiful market square full of colourful half-timbered houses and cosy terraces where you can soak up the local atmosphere. For families who prefer a bit more action, there is a go-kart track in Aigues-Vives, ten kilometres away. You can also go canoeing or rafting together on the nearby River Hers. This allows you to effortlessly alternate quiet days at the campsite with active outings.
