Experience a camping holiday full of (mini) castles, nature, amusement parks, museums, and historic cities with the whole family from cosy La Grande Tortue.
Swimming facilities at La Grande Tortue campsite

The beautifully designed swimming pool at this campsite in Candé-sur-Beuvron has safely separated and heated sections for toddlers, pre-school children (with a water play area including slides), and adult swimmers. On the terrace, enjoy the green surroundings with a drink and something savory from the snack bar. Nearby, in the river, canoeing or kayaking is a popular water sport.

Facilities at La Grande Tortue campsite

The restaurant offers dinner, breakfast, and lunch, also to takeaway. The playground is exceptional for such a cosy family campsite and otherwise, the entertainment team will provide other entertainment during this camping holiday. Rental bicycles (with child seat and/or trolley) can be arranged at reception, as can handy cool boxes for on the road! At the small supermarket, you will find everything you need for your picnic. Good to know, because the surroundings invite you for an adventurous yet relaxing bike ride through the rolling hills.

The surrounding area of camping La Grande Tortue

The Loire Valley is known for its vineyards and many castles. One of these is especially fun for young and old because it was the model for the comic strip Tintin and is now a museum dedicated to the little hero: Cheverny. Blois, with its statue of Joan of Arc and its majestic Pont-Jacques Gabriel over the Loire, is a surprise in itself. Visit historic Saint-Dyé-Sur-Loire or treat the kids to a day at La Recreation amusement park or Mini-Chateaux: Madurodam the French way!

Huge fun camping!
Large playground
Clear pool
Animation

Very nice campsite aimed at small children (up to about 11 years), the campsite was not mega large so the children (4 and 7 years) could go to the playground by themselves. Also a really nice playground with large bouncy castle. Animation was NL and also very nice. Swimming pool is not mega large but nice. Advantage was also that even at 13h you still had enough space to lie down at the campsite. Environment was also fine, larger towns are within driving distance (about 15 km). There was a small village 1 km away with a very good bakery. The Loire was also within walking distance. We had the bikes with us and you could enjoy cycling in the area. I definitely want to go here again. Should you hear some rustling under your cottage at night, those are the hedgehogs.

The lady from Eurocamping only spoke French
Many changes of campers
It was great, the kids had a great time. The campsite wasn't too crowded, partly because it wasn't that big.
