From Camping Le Florida in Elne, you can cycle to the beach of Saint-Cyprien in 15 minutes (about 4 kilometres). Wide sandy beaches and clear blue water make it an ideal place for a day by the sea. But the inland areas are also worth exploring. Drive toward the artist village of Collioure, where narrow streets, colourful houses and a picturesque port will transport you to another time. Fort Saint-Elme, just above Collioure, is also highly recommended: this historic fort offers not only a fascinating glimpse into the past, but also breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. The more active holidaymaker follows the cycling route through the vineyards or opts for a brisk mountain bike ride in the rugged hinterland. And those looking for peace and quiet, take a walk along the hidden coves of Paulilles, accessible only on foot but absolutely worthwhile.
