What to do in Brandenburg
The city of Berlin is surrounded by the Brandenburg region, so Berlin is a great destination for a one- or two-day visit. Here, check out the TV Tower and, of course, the Brandenburg Gate. Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg state, is also a good choice for a day trip. Over time, people from all over Europe came to the residence city of the Hohenzollern dynasty. The Spreewald is located southeast of Berlin. You will find more than 18,000 animal and plant species. This area has special inhabitants, the Sorbs. They are a Slavic minority with their own traditions and language. Here, you can, for instance, take a boat trip on a Spreekahn, a traditional punt. The skipper is dressed in traditional Sorbian costumes. While you are there, try the authentic Spreewald gurken (Spreewald gurken).
